I watched the movie, first day, first show thanks to the efforts of the Team at XL Cinema that provided the synced audio track for the movie. This was at PVR theatre, Bangalore. I went with sighted friends and after the movie, I had a great discussion and talk about the movie with them over lunch. They were stoked that I followed the movie that well, even though I did not see the screen. Pop corn was expensive but movie experience was great thanks to the audio description efforts on the XL Cinema application. Therefore requesting all members to like, comment and share in your network on all platforms. I think I will ask Srikanth for my money back i.e. INR450 I understand the context in which he has made this comment, he also excuses himself because that is him. However, dismissing the effort like that was uncalled for. Mission Accessibility is moving an application in our ongoing matter to make OTT content accessible in the Delhi High Court to flag this issue. Once a Direction hopefully comes for Shrikanth also to have audio description on Netflix, that would be a powerful refutation to this kind of majoritarian and myopic thinking. I have huge respect for Srikanth and for what he has done professionally. These observations unfortunately reveal a lot of internalized ableism however.
