Hello everyone, I am having a strange issue with JAWS and would appreciate any insights from other users. Environment:
Windows 11 JAWS 2025 and JAWS 2026 Eloquence speech synthesizer Issue: When I type quickly and press Space immediately after a letter or word, JAWS often announces what sounds like the letter "D" instead of "space". However: No actual "d" is inserted into the edit field. The typed text is always correct. This happens across multiple applications, not just one. If I press Space by itself, JAWS correctly announces "space". The issue only seems to happen when Space is pressed immediately after typing. Troubleshooting already done: Tested in both JAWS 2025 and 2026. Same behavior. Turned off Character Echo. Issue remained. Tried typing sequences like "qqqqqq" followed by Space. JAWS still seemed to announce "d". Checked JAWS Speech History. It does not show any "d" being spoken when this happens. Because Speech History does not record the "d", I am wondering if this is related to Eloquence, speech interruption, audio processing, or some other JAWS setting rather than actual keyboard echo. Has anyone seen something similar, or does anyone have ideas about what could be causing it? -- Disclaimer: 1.
