It's strange that Titan would not announce this giant step on any of the 
media. Firms would jump to take credits for corporate social responsibility 
even without doing anything, but nothing from Titan despite this major step?

For all I know, Titan has done nothing of the sort. Now who is fooling whom 
is would be a thing to know. There may be a fake Titan, with altered 
spellings like "tighten" and they are selling watches imported from other 
countries as some of the countries sell specialized equipments at very 
subsidized rates.
Or second possibility is that your sources are not correct.
