Yes, When you create a file, you will loose your free disk.
When the file increases in memory you will loose the disk space. But once 
you delete the file, you will get back the disk space.
So even you save in folder or disk you will loose the free space. Actually 
what ever you save in folders is saved in your disk.
Folders are created when you have different files, relating to different 
items.
Example:
you have some music files and books and pictures.
Music files are stored in a folder called music and books are stored in a 
folder called books and pictures also the same.
Thats why when you create folder it becomes easy.
