For Visually Impaired Enable India is a Bangalore based, non profit organization established in 1999. Our goal is to empower people with disabilities through rehabilitation, supplemental education and employment. One of our main focus areas is free computer training for the visually impaired. Enable Indias new batch for Career Centric Computer Training (CCCT) for the visually impaired will commence on June 30th 2008. The duration of the course is 6 months. The course will cover MS Office applications such as MS Word MS Excel, Internet Explorer etc with JAWS, and life skills training which includes Employment training, career guidance and counseling, Personality Development. The ultimate aim of this course is to make the candidate employable. Course Fee: This course has a unique course fee attached: You will have to do 10 hours of social work for some deserving NGO. And a refundable deposit of Rs. 500 (which is completely refundable upon certain criteria like 95% attendance etc). Hostel Accommodation is available at Mitra Jyothi facility for a monthly charge of Rs. 1500. This facility is 6 kms away from the training centre. (We can also provide assistance to find a PG or Hostel) Employment opportunities will also be provided for eligible candidates based on their performance. Visually impaired candidates who are preferably degree holders or 12th standard but are planning to continue their education, who can understand & speak English, & who can attend full time training can apply. Last date for the registration for Career Centric Computer Training is June 21st 2008.
