On our eyeway helpdesk, we have received a couple of queries on the same issue in the last 2 months from Maharashtra. These two persons have cleared SET long ago and have noted that in the state, totally blind persons are not selected for the job of a lecturer. Its said that Maharashtra government's list of identified jobs allows a blind person for lecturer's job only for the music subject. i haven't seen the list myself. One of these two callers have expressed his willingness to challenge this legally, and Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) has agreed to look into the matter and take it forward.
