Hi Rajesh,
Can you pls send me as well the advertisement of MPSC. the attachment didn't
reach me via AI mail.

On our eyeway helpdesk, we have received a couple of queries on the same
issue in the last 2 months from Maharashtra. These two persons have cleared
SET long ago and have noted that in the state, totally blind persons are not
selected for the job of a lecturer. Its said that Maharashtra government's
list of identified jobs allows a blind person for lecturer's job only for
the music subject. i haven't seen the list myself.

One of these two callers have expressed his willingness to challenge this
legally, and Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) has agreed to look into the
matter and take it forward.
This caller whose specialisation is in Marathi subject says he cleared SET
in 1996 and till now has gone for around 100 interviews but was never
selected.
given many a interviews whenever they got the chance.

let me also have the advertisement, i think it would be useful in this case.

thanks and regards,

Subject: [AI] High time for MPSC to MEND its ways!

Hello Kanchan

MPSC seems to have vowed to transgress the rule of law and all laws of shame
as well!!!

This time they have come up with four posts of lecturer in education--two
for partially deaf and two for low vision candidates.

The required qualification is PG in humanities etc. plus M.ED.

I don't know about the deaf candidates but why should a blind candidate be
barred from applying/holding the post?

Central list of identified jobs does contain the post of lecturer in
education and clearly mentions inter alia blind and low vision as eligible
categories of disability.

The whole quagmire of post identification in Maharashtra is farcical!!

However, I strongly feel that such blatant discrimination ought to be
challenged, by separate litigation, if the need be.

I am on the verge of loosing faith in the judiciary and the system as a
whole.

I am attaching the said advertisement.

Regards

Rajesh
