Deputy General Manager (Electrical /Mechanical) (Post Code: 14)-Degree in the 
concerned discipline of Engineering.
Preference will be given to persons having Post Graduate Diploma or Degree with 
specialization. Experience: 7 years experience in an
executive position in the concerned discipline of engineering in a government 
organization/Public Sector Undertaking/a large Private
Sector Undertaking, out of which 3 years, shall be at the level of executive 
engineer or equivalent. Desirable: Experience in Planning
and execution of internal and external installation of storage depots, 
townships etc. maintenance of HT/LT equipments, lifts, and standby



generators etc., and/or experience in planning and execution of conveyor 
system, aeration and dust extraction in silos, installations and
commissioning of modern rice mills, dal mills, solvent extraction plants and 
maintenance of mechanical equipments.

For Govt. Departments/PSUs ( Public Sector undertakings)

i) Executive Position: The position in IDA scale of Rs.8600-250-14600 or CDA 
scale of Rs.8000-275-13500 or above shall be considered
as an executive level experience.
ii) Executive Engineer level experience: Should have worked as Executive 
Engineer or equivalent position i.e., in the scale of Rs.10750300-

Practice at Bar: Apart from providing the certificate from the concerned Bar 
Council/Association, the candidate shall be required to
certify with appropriate evidence that he/she has represented in at least 10 
matters in a year while practicing at Bar.


Assistant General Manager (Legal) (Post Code:16)-i) Degree in Law from a 
recognized university, ii) At least 5 year
experience in legal work in Central/State Govt. or a Public/Private Sector 
Undertaking or 3 years practice at Bar.
Practice at Bar: Apart from providing the certificate from the concerned Bar

Assistant General Manager (Technical) (Post Code: 19)-i) Degree in Agriculture, 
or Degree in Science with Diploma in
Food Technology or Master’s Degree in Zoology or Biochemistry or equivalent 
qualifications, ii) 5 years experience in storage of food-
grains and maintenance of stocks or in the examination, inspection and analysis 
of food grains in govt. or Public/Private Sector
Undertaking. Desirable: Knowledge of toxicology of insecticides, raticides and 
fumigants in use in grains /stocks.
The experience acquired as Junior/Senior Research Fellow while pursuing higher 
studies, will be reckoned as required experience.

Medical Officer (Post Code: 20)-MBBS (Registered and completed the prescribed 
House Surgery) (either completed the
Internship or undergone Internment and a compulsory surgency for a period of 
one year, Rotary House Surgency for one year).
Experience: 3 years experience in any recognised Medical Institution, 
preferably in a labour organization. Experience as House
Surgeon/Resident Doctor while pursuing MD Course would reckon as experience 
provided it is acquired after completing Internship.

Clarification on various terms: A large “Private Sector Undertaking” wherever 
it appears in the Rules would mean -a registered
Company or registered Society/Cooperative Society or registered 
Partnership/Proprietary Firm with current annual turn over of not less
than Rs.500 crores for a manufacturing Firm and not less than Rs.100 crores for 
a Service Organization.

SELECTION PROCESS: Selection process consists of written test, group discussion 
and interview. The venue & schedule
of Written Test will be intimated to individual applicant along with the Admit 
Card. The same will also be placed on the
FCI’s website. The Test will be in two parts. Part I will consist of 60 
multiple choice questions of the relevant technical
discipline and Part II will consist of 60 multiple choice questions on general 
aptitude consisting of Reasoning, Data Analysis,
Computer Awareness, General Awareness and Current Affairs. On qualifying the 
Written Test, Group Discussions and
Personal Interview will be held for short-listed candidates.

RESERVATION AND RELAXATIONS:
. The prescribed qualifications, experience and the age limit shall be reckoned 
as on 01.08.2008. The maximum age
limit can be relaxed for 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 3 years for 
OBC candidates.
. In case of departmental employees, there is no age bar.
. The age limit for PH candidates is relaxed by 10 years [15 years for PH 
candidates belonging to SC/ST and 13 yrs
for PH candidates belonging to OBC.]
. Age is additionally relaxed by 5 years for those applicants who had 
ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir

GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTION:
. All the posts carry IDA pattern pay scales and usual allowances such as CCA, 
HRA, Leave Travel facilities etc. These
scales carry DA on percentage basis. Gross emoluments would vary depending upon 
place of posting.
. Employees of the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should get 
their application routed through proper
channel to reach the Corporation on or before the last date prescribed. Direct 
applications shall not be entertained.
. Mere submission of application and fulfilling the eligibility conditions give 
no right to any person for Test/Interview
etc.
. The numbers of vacancies mentioned above are subject to variation depending 
upon the administrative exigencies
and further filling up of these vacancies would be made subject to the outcome 
of the writ Petitions pending in the
various Courts, if any.
. No correspondence will be entertained about the outcome of the application, 
at any stage.
. All appointments will be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the 
Corporation, in-force from time to time. Other

. The selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India.
. No TA will be provided for the Written Test. However, for attending the GD

subject to production of railway ticket.
. Candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfill the required 
qualification, experience, age etc., before

. All the posts carry IDA pattern pay scales and usual allowances such as CCA, 
HRA, Leave Travel facilities etc. These
scales carry DA on percentage basis.
. Examination fee for applying against for one zone is Rs.300/-. In case the 
candidate desire to apply for more than one
zone additional fee of Rs.150/- per zone is payable.
. Employees of the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should get 
their application routed through proper
channel to reach the Corporation on or before the last date prescribed. Direct 
applications shall not be entertained.
. Mere submission of application and fulfilling the eligibility conditions give 
no right to any person for test/interview etc.
. The number of vacancies mentioned above are subject to vary depending upon 
the administrative exigencies and
further filling up of these vacancies would be made subject to the outcome of 
the writ Petitions pending in the various
courts, if any.
. No correspondence will be entertained about the outcome of the application, 
at any stage.
. All appointments will be subject to the Rules and Regulation of the 
Corporation, in-force from time to time. Other
benefits like CPF, Gratuity, Leave Travel Concessions, Leave Encashment, 
Medical reimbursement, conveyance
reimbursement, lunch subsidy etc. shall be applicable as per the rules of the 
Corporation as amended from time to time.

. The selected candidates on appointment will be posted in the zones against 
which they have applied and have been
selected. The seniority of the appointees will be maintained in the concerned 
zones.
. No TA will be provided for the written test. However for attending the 
GD/interview, candidates will be given Rail fare
“To and Fro” (as per entitlement) by the shortest route, subject to production 
of railway ticket.
. Candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfill the required 
qualification, experience, age etc. before applying for
the post. In case it is found that the information furnished by a candidate is 
defective in any manner, the candidature
will be summarily reject as and when it comes to the notice of the Management. 
The candidates are advised to satisfy
themselves fully about the correctness of the information furnished.
. Self attested Photostat copies of documents for proof of 
age/qualifications/experience/caste etc. should be attached
with the application. Original certificates will however be scrutinized / 
verified at the time of interview.
. There will be written test for all applicants. On qualifying the written 
test, Group discussion and personal interview,
eligible candidates will be appointed to the post applied for based on the 
merit obtained by them.
. Application not in the prescribed Proforma or incomplete shall summarily be 
rejected. Care should be exercised by the
Departmental candidate to forward their application to the Authority concerned, 
through proper channel, within
stipulated date.
. Any attempt to influence the Corporation in any manner would disqualify the 
candidate and reject the candidature.
. Candidate must ensure to have fulfilled all the eligibility viz. age, 
qualification & experience by 01.08.2008
. Management reserves the right to call for any additional documentary evidence 
in support of educational qualification of
the applicants.
OTHER INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANAGEMENT TRAINEES: ::
1. The Management Trainees on successful completion of training period will be 
absorbed as Manager, in the pay scale of
Rs 8600-250-14600 plus other benefits as per the rules of the Corporation. The 
scale is subject to revision with effect
from 01.01.2007.
2. The selected candidates for the post of Management Trainees will have to 
sign a bond of Rs 1,00,000/- (Rs One Lac
only) for serving the Corporation for a minimum period of 3 years, after 
completion of their training period.
3. On completion of the selection process of Management Trainees separate 
select list will be prepared by each zone
based on marks obtained by the candidate in written test, group discussion & 
interview.
4. The final merit list (zone wise) for Management Trainees will also be 
prepared after the successful completion of the
training programme.
HOW TO APPLY: To apply follow the steps given below:
1. Candidates have to make Demand Draft of appropriate amount (Rs.300 for one 
zone + Rs.150/- each for additional zone)
drawn in favor of Food Corporation of India, payable at New Delhi.
2. Application fee is not required for SC/ST and PH candidates, subject to 
submission of caste/disability certificate from
appropriate authority in support of his/her claim.
3. Application can be submitted by a candidate only once and against only one 
of the post which means candidate has only
ONE choice of selection of ONE of the post offered. Hence, you are advised to 
apply for the post, most suiting to your
Qualification, Experience etc.
4. Application on the plain paper in the form appended below (type written in 
English) completed in all respect, is to be sent in
an envelop superscripted “Application for the post (name & code no. of the post 
applied for)” so as to reach on or before
15.09.08 For applications from North Eastern states & Jammu & Kashmir, last
