Invention of Braille System

Eligibility                       :            Open to all visually impaired 
persons

Medium                        :            English (in not more than 2,000 
words)

Submission Process            :            Brailled or typed matter must reach 
us at the

abovesaid address within November 28, 2008. Email attachments will be accepted. 
The entry must contain in a separate sheet the candidate's full name, postal 
address, phone number and email address (if any), age and occupation. Result 
will be announced on our web site In January and prizes will be distributed at 
the concluding ceremony of Louis Braille's birth bicentenary. Prize winners 
will be notified in time.

You must be aware that the birth bicentenary of Monsieur Louis Braille 
(1809-1852), the inventor of braille system, is being observed all over the 
world during this year. We have also taken up various programmes to highlight 
the contributions of this inventor whose achievement has freed the sightless 
from the curses of ignorance and ignominy. We require your active cooperation 
for the success of the abovesaid competition.
