Yes, Kanchan, you are right. The paragraph dialogue box is more efficient. But I use the tab key for a shortcut. I have noted that my address takes about 2.5 inches and so I use the tab key for seven times to get an indentation of 3.5 inches. You can also set tab stop at 3.5 inches from the Tab stop dialogue box under View menu perhaps.

I would also add, use alt+delete key to check cursor position in terms of inches in ms word. If you are in normal view, jaws takes the left margin at 0 inch, whatever the actual page margin is. It announces the correct left position if the print layout view is checked under View menu. As regards the top margin, jaws is always right. I frequently use alt+delete key to check position of the cursor and it helps me to understand the format when sighted assistance is not available.

Also use insert+f to check format information. It is a jaws command.

Subject: Re: [AI] how to move the matter in the right in Ms word? andhowtohigh light something by bullet sign?

Amar and others,
If you want to move an address to the right please do not right align. That is totally wrong. If you right align then you will touch the right hand side margin and the left edges will be jagged. Let me explain:
My home address is
24 Blue haven
Mount Pleasant Road

What you need in the same line is "2" and "M" you do not need "N" and "D" in the same line. If you right align then "n" and "d" will come one below the other and will be touching the right margin. "2" and "M" will start at different places. To get "2" and "M" one below the other at the same point you have to first type them out on differnt lines by hitting the enter button after 24 Blue Haven. At this stage there will be no margin so the words will be flushed left. Then highlight both the lines. Go to the format menu and then to paragraphs after that to Indents and spacing and then put in a value like 2.8 in the box for left indent. this will move the whole thing to the right by 2.8. You will then have "2" and "M" starting at the same point and ending at different points but all on the right hand side of the paper.
Why 2.8?
this is because A4 size paper is 8.5 width and we leave a margin of about 1.6 on the left and 1.25 on the right which leaves about little less than 6 inches to work on so actuallly half way would be somewhere around 2.82 I leave a little less since the margin on the left is a little more to make it look nearly half way and therefore equal. If you have a shorter address per line then you can move it more towards the right by keeping a higher indent on the left.

If you dont understand what I have tried to explain then call me personally
Never use the Tab button it is the shabbiest way to do this.
Sometimes it is easier to use a table and put in 2 colums with one row.
do not type in the first column but only in the second column and keep using the enter button between the lines. Needless to say you must hide gridlines before sending or printing.

Both the ways I have suggested will ensure that it is absolutely accurate without sighted assistance and you wont have a problem in case the paper or margin size changes.

Since a lot of us havent seen since birht it is best to understand these concepts by letting people explain this on the palm. I know that some trainers do this by using clay.

Once again do not use tabs or the space bar.

Hello,

You can right-align a paragraph using ctrl+r. It will shift all lines in a paragraph to the right margin. As for text spread over two or three lines, you may prefer using the tab key to start each line at a certain point. Each tab key will announce the amount of space it shifts.

As regards bulleted list, use ctrl+shift+l.

For other styles like numbered list, etc., you can use the style submenu under format menu.

If things are messed up, use ctrl+shift+n to return to normal format.

Amiyo Biswas.

Subject: [AI] how to move the matter in the right in Ms word? and how tohigh light something by bullet sign?

Respected Accessindians,
Please help me in learning Ms word.

1. If we have to move something in the right, then how should we do it?

Suppose I am writing a letter. Now, if I have to move my address in
the right then what should I do for it?

2. High lighting a point with bullet sign or creating a list of points?

Suppose there is a main heading "Functions" and I have to high light 5
points given below this heading exactly like the bulleted list which
we see on the websites then how do we do it in Ms word?

I have given examples to express my questions perfectly.
Expecting your help in this regard.
Regards,
Amar Jain.
