As far as I know, Ray Kurzweil developed the OCR and synthetic speech in 1978. It was the first attempt to use computer technology for the blind people. Jaws was developed by Ted Henter, the founder of Henter Joyce Inc. He was an engineer. He lost his sight in an accident. Then he devoted his time and energy to the development of a software programme for accessing the text on the computer screen.

Subject: [AI] Bicentenial anniversery of Louis Braille's birth

Hello Friends,
This is the bicentenial year of Louis Braille. I consider him nothing less than our God. We become literate with the help of this Braille script and the path of our development is paved. We are unable to be grateful enough to him our his great gift of his to the whole blind community of the world. Let us not forget him as his two-hundredth birth anniversity is fast approaching.

Friends, we definitely pay tribute to Louis Braille. But my question is: who is the Louis Braille of the modern world? I mean who is the inventor of JAWS? Or, who was the first person who thought of making a screen reader for the blind- JAWS or whichever was the first screen reader software?
I expect the answer from the honorable and knowledgeable members.?
