I have both an external bluetooth receiver (Holux M1000) and an internal receiver in my Nokia N82. I can confirm that at this point of time, an external receiver is much better. Internal receivers take a lot of time to obtain a fix. Further, when you are travelling in a car or a bus, keeping the phone in your pocket effects the accuracy of the GPS data drastically.
