I recently purchased a Plustek optic book 3600 scanner. Though I use it primarily with fine reader, the scanner is a recommended scanner when using the Kurzweil 1000.
I am in New Delhi and I bought the scanner from Nehru Place. I would be happy to give you the contact information of my vendor.
