Tom Alter to anchor radio show for the blind
To inform, inspire, and empower blind/low-vision people, our 3-year-old radio 
show Eyeway Yeh Hai Roshni Ka Karawan now also goes on A.I.R FM Rainbow. The 
show would be aired every Wednesday 9:30 p.m. from nine cities-Delhi, Mumbai, 
Kolkata, Jallandhar, Kanpur, Lucknow, Cuttack, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. The 
same show would also be available Thursday onwards for online listening at 
www.eyeway.org/includes/radio. 



Tom Alter, the well known film and theatre personality would present the show. 
The 15-minute show in hindi would have interview and profile of blind 
achievers, and features on important aspects of life, such as education, career 
opportunities, technology, legal rights, parenting, etc.

 

In February 2008, the show was chosen as the best in the Social Initiative 
category by the Radio Duniya Awards held in Delhi, which had entries from radio 
channels across the country.

 

Conceived and produced by visually impaired people, Eyeway Yeh Hai Roshni Ka 
Karawan has been on air since November 2005. First year, it was aired from six 
cities, and next year onwards it started reaching 30 cities through Vividh 
Bharati channel. The show can also be heard anytime on the website 
www.eyeway.org. 

 

The radio show is produced by Score Foundation as a part of Project Eyeway, 
which is a knowledge resource for living a fuller life with vision impairment.
