Dear Rajesh, I agree with this approach for now. But I look forward to a strong push for ensuring that 3% of total sanctioned cadre strength of the organisation should be taken in account rather than only 3% of new recruitments.
With the current pace, I don't know how many years it might take to see 3% representation of persons with disabilities in any organisation. The disability figures as per world bank estimates in India are between 4-8 percent! Upcoming census 2011 will reveal much more prevalence for we believe this time the sector will go all out to ensure that every one is counted. Mind you, the employable candidates will grow in the time to come with opening of new vistas in education and technology. And filling up these vacancies will become far easier than now.
