Hello aisha, What part of the chat did you not understand? The vOICe is a visual prosthesis. You can think of it as an artificle eye. The only difference is that instead of stimulating your eyes, it uses your ears to convey visual information. Vision and other senses are processed in the brain. For early blind people, the visual cortex, the part of the brain that processes vision gets used for other purposes. The vOICe's image to sound mapping is such that when you hear it, your brain says "wait a minute, that is visual input so let me get the visual cortext to process it." This process takes a little time to happen but eventually you start processing visual input and are seeing.
