After going through a long thought process, I am writing this mail to you. I am Himanshu Sahu, reside and work in Allahabad Bank, Kolkata. Didi, I am a Visually Impaired (Blind) person and discussing this issue on behalf of all Blind people and disables of our country. I am one of the thousands of members of an online social network, where generally we discuss the social phenomena, educational issues, technologies, means of reducing our difficulties and so on. Recently I came across some of the highly objectionable discriminations, practicing by Railway in term of social equality. We have been provided concession facility in Railway’s fares for a long time. But, there is no concession in trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi. And the recently introduced train “Durranto” has been also added in this list. Because this is also of same stature. It suggests that railway is essentially saying that concession is meant only for lowest mode of travel, and not for modern facilities. Where as, the Air India provides concession facility to disables in its flights. Didi, in whole Bengal and even in India people know you for your philanthropic and kind approach towards deprived, suppressed and desolate people. Many of your works after taking the responsibility of Railways encouraged me to put this issue in front of you; which I couldn’t have considered before. We have a great expectation from you that you would understand our difficulties, right of equality and would accept our existence and contribution in society. We humbly request you that kindly eradicate this inequity from Railway and introduce concessions in these trains too, so that we can walk along with our sighted and physically fit counterparts. We believe that you would positively consider the problems and expectations of hundred thousands of people, who are still neglected in every sphere of life. Eagerly waiting for your kind response.
