Hi Pavan,

This is not an invalid concern altogether. Several clients including banks
do not allow third-party software to be installed on their machines.

As a job seeker, when approaching companies independently, it takes a lot of
tact to convince them that there are workarounds to situations like this. In
your case, for example, you could use screen readers available on pen drives
to work on those machines. However, the trick is to get them to allow you to
take the test in the first place. And asking for a scribe to do so is not a
good idea. This would give them the impression that you are not independent
enough to write the test on your own. Take the test on a computer instead.

Finally, be prepared for a no at all times. While things may have improved
considerably during the past decade, companies -- specially those that have
not dealt with a blind person in the past -- continue to be extremely
reluctant when it comes to hiring a blind person. Patience and perseverance
are as much a prerequisite as the right qualification when it comes to
finding a job.

Good luck.
Geetha

Subject: [AI] any one in infosys

hello accessindians!
as iam in final year of b.tech campus recruitments started to take place.
as a part of it we must first take a written test.
so i have requested HR person to provide me with a scribe.
then he said "no you cannot deliver your work for infosys iam sorry"
when i explained about softwares that we use then he said "i know that
there are softwares available but i cannot take you as you must work
in client machine they may not accept instaling the software in their
machines"
then i understood that he is not willing to provide me an opertunity.
i thought of taking this to the notice of higher officials.
therefor i request the list if any one of you is working in infosys
or any other VI person whom you know is working in infosys.
 please let me know.
regards
