Could you tell me please - what are the documents, one get to take along to DFI. Should this very netbook comes with lusterless scratch resistant upper lid (black/white) or the glossy one?

Kindest Regards

I may add few clarifications to this:
Since the computers are getting delivered in New Delhi and then being sent to DFI organisations, there would be some shipping cost associated with this delivery. Since that cost is not constent it is not specified in the cost of
11500.

This cost will be indicated at the time of delivery and I can asure that it
will not be high.

This scheme is a learning process for us too as there are lots of gaps that need to be filled when we implement and theory into a real action of this
kind.

I seek your cooperation to make it a success so that we can come out with
more such schemes in future also.

Thanks
Dipendra

HELLO,
THIS IS NOT A CUSTOM MADE NETBOOK. ALL THE SPECIFICATIONS MENTIONED IN THE WEBSITE ARE CORRECT. IN THE EMAIL SENT EARLIER IT WAS MENNTIONED THAT IT IS
COMPATIBLE WITH A 3 g CONNECTION. YOU CAN GO BY THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE
DESCRIPTION AS FAR AS THIS NETBOOK IS CONCERNED.

you need to deposit the price of the netbook that is Rs. 11500 alongwith the application form. therefore, I am afraid you will have to visit the nearest
DFI centre at the earliest with all the documents and money in hand.

Subject: Re: [AI] Great offer: Netbook at a special price

Hello sir,

I'm interested in purchasing this wonderful netbook but have a few
doubts which I would like to clear before submitting the form.
1. In the specifications, I couldn't find bluetooth, 3G & GPS on the
official Samsung page, i.e.
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/office/mobile-computing/netbooks/ NP
-N150-JA01US/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=spec
So, I'd like to know is this some sort of custom made netbook
different from the official version?
2. After downloading & filling the form, am I supposed to take it's
print out and speed post it to my chosen DFI organisation or can I
email this application as well along with my disability certificate ?
The reason why I ask this is that email is much more efficient than
post, and I don't want my application reaching office after the scheme
has elapsed.

Dear Friends,

Here comes the great offer due to efforts of Mr. Dipendra Manocha and
Saksham.

We have been able to finalise the purchase of Samsung N150 Netbook
for a special scheme for University Students with blindness or low
vision.

The Netbook is being purchased at the cost of Rs. 16500.

This Netbook has: Atom 450 processor, 10 inch screen, 8and half hour
battery back-up, USB, Blue Tooth Wi-Fi, LAN port, VGA port.
1 GB RAM and 160 GB of HDD. It also has webcam. The Netbook claims to
be 3g and GPS enabled. (not a sim card slot but will be able to
handle 3g connectivity). It does have card reader also.
You can read a review at
http://www.mybestlaptop.org/samsung-n150-review.html

After providing 5000 rupees subsidy, the Netbook will be available to
the students at the cost of Rs. 11500.

We will load the computers with various utilities like the NVDA and
SAFA screen reading software, Web IE configured for Hindu news paper
links and suitable configurations for persons with vision impairments.

The computers will be delivered in New Delhi thus there would be
shipping cost in addition to the cost of the machine.

How to order:

The application form for this offer can be downloaded from this link
http://www.sendspace.com/file/e92c8y or requested from Saksham.

The Netbook will be distributed through DFI member organisations only.
You
can locate the nearest DAISY Forum of India member on the DFI website
at http://www.daisyindia.org/03membersList.htm

Member organisations may please fill up the forms of their
beneficiaries and collect the payments of 11500 from them. This
payment will need to be sent to Saksham Trust.

The offer is going to be on first come first serve basis.

This offer comes due to the kind contribution from I F C I.

When you fill up the forms, we would need disability certificates
and proof of their being in the in University or any diploma,
graduation or post graduation or higher education programme such as
the valid ID card.

We are looking at closing collection of orders within one week.

So please hurry and help in completing this exercise without troubles.

For more information please contact DFI members and Saksham staff
using the following contact details.

Email: i...@saksham.org

Personally, I think that the Netbook is a great device and can serve
all the reading and writing needs of any individual. I have purchased this Netbook few months earlier and I am in love with the portability
and independence it offers. So, I suggest you grab this offer before
it ends. Remember that the subsidy is for a limited number of Netbook
and it will not be available at this price after the scheme ends.

Thanks and regards
