Perhaps the handicapped coach is not meant for reservation. It's attached to the general compartment. I had my ticket in the waiting list for AC 3 class. I did not opt for handicapped quota.

Anyway, the coach has only 4 berths and it's difficult for an orthopedically handicapped person to climb the upper berth.

amiyo

if u had the reservation ticket with sl1 reservation
it contains train number
date

and of course one needs certain communication skills to be able to have a
constructive dialogue with the users of the compartment

the lower berth generally gets occupied by seaters and sharers
and then in the end it is used by the sleeper

so reserved ones take upper berth or keep bag there

Hello,

I traveled by handicapped couch from Howrah to Delhi by Poorva Express in March this year. My reservation was not confirmed and so I had to use this
facility, in my fellow passengers' terms, at a loss. Anyway, what I
understood from the passengers and the RPF on Howrah station is that if you
have a handicapped card and a ticket in any form, you can travel by this
couch. Escorts are also allowed in the same couch for the convenience of the
handicapped passengers. I think, berths in this couch are not allotted
during reservation process.

With Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.

hello friends,
i requested all the guard and railway police force. but no use.
because there was no chart on the compartment containing my
reservation details. even if there's any chart, how can we ask the
handicapped fellow men to vacate the seat? they too have the right to
sit on the seats as well as other passingers. it is pity to note that
it is totally irrelavant to make arrangements to reserve seats in
disabled compartment.
