although Punjab National Bank for ones has decided to come out of the rudd of discrimination against the disabled by formulating a policy to issue credit cards, that doesn't mean they are doing an act of charity to the visually challenged. it is a responsibility and a legal and constitutional stipulation that they are meetting. however as any such policy is open to public scrutiny, particularly on the part of the stake holders, there will be questions asked, clarifications sorted, and criticisms leveled against. that is how a democracy work, and one has to learn to be tolerant to this democratic right. although PNB's efforts at bringing a sense of clarity to the issue of credit card to the visually challenged is a welcomed step, many of us feel that some of the stipulations included in the proposed policy are unfair and even illogical. AI members working with PNB would do well to engage with these criticisms, and since they are better placed in the organization, they can take it up at the appropriate levels. that is entirely up to them, but at least crude remarks and assertions regarding the visually challenged who are struggling for their rights can be avoided.
