Let me try and clarify a few points here:

1. iPhone 3G (which is still available in India) is not accessible at all.
So, just forget about.

2. iPhone 3GS is also available in India and it has VoiceOver and Zoom
functionality. VoiceOver is a full-fledged screen reader and provides access
to most of the built-in apps and third-party apps. It does not provide
limited access.

3. As far as I am aware, SayText may only work with the new iPhone 4 and not
with any other models. I may be wrong but I don't thing the camera on the
3GS and 3G is sufficient for OCR.

Look at www.maccessibility.net for reviews of the iPhone 3GS.

Kiran

This may perhaps help you -

I remember seeing a detailed review by Victor Tsaran, but don't have the
link right now. You may search on Twitter.

Subject: [AI] Urgent help needed regarding iPhone 3GS

Folks:

Am just about to check out Say Text and do a small review cum report for
my newspaper. However, am told that Voice Over is not fully functional
on iPhone 3GS.

1. Is it true that VoiceOver works only to get some contacts and
operate music in iPhone 3Gs bought in India?
2. If not, pl let me know how best I or anyone buying iPhone 3GS
in India can make the best use of VoiceOver and by extension Say Text.
Quick response is appreciated since I need to do it faster.

Subramani
