Subject: [AI] Higher secondary mark sheets now in Braille

Hindu other states Orissa:

Higher secondary mark sheets now in Braille
Ananya Dutta
KOLKATA: Visually challenged students appearing for the Higher Secondary Examinations in the state can now get a feel of the marks secured by them first hand as the West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education has introduced Braille mark-sheets for them. In a decision taken last year, visually challenged students who appeared for their exams this year can get their mark-sheets in Braille, said Malay Roy, Deputy Secretary (Exams) of the council on Tuesday. "The intention of introducing the mark-sheets in Braille is so that the student can experience the fruits of their labour themselves - a chance to see them through your own touch," he added. Even though the council wants to promote differently-abled persons to appear for exams there are only about 50 visually challenged students out of the lakhs of students who took the examination this year, Mr. Roy said.
