Introduction of Enable India Enable India is a non-profit organization working tirelessly since its inception from 1999 towards the economic independence and dignity of persons with disabilities. We cater to the needs of all kinds of disabilities like visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically disabled, mental retardation, mental illness and more across India. Our major thrust areas are employment, pre-employment services, and work place solutions, supplemental education, consulting and enabling other institutions working for the disabled. Introduction of Pre Employment Training: Pre Employment Training is a short duration training program, designed to improve the employability skill sets of the candidates to meet the company requirements. The training enables you to integrate all your skills to finish the real time work. The course aims at making you a finished product and enhances your market value. This is an initiative from Enable India team and Microsoft, towards giving quality Employment training for visually impaired people who have completed their studies and are seeking for a job. Main goal of this course is to make the candidate employable by providing advanced computer knowledge, effective way of using computers, Employability sessions, communicative English, Life skills and thus increase the employment opportunities. Our goal is to give quality in what we give. Course Details:- Duration : 7 Weeks Timings : 9:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Saturday Date : March 14th – April 30th 2011 Seats : 10 Premise Microsoft Campus, Hyderabad Contents 1. Advanced editing and proof reading 2. Advanced concepts in Microsoft Excel 3. Advanced concepts in Microsoft Word. 4. Efficient way of using internet with JAWS. 5. Effective way of using internet enabled services (e-mail, chat, online registration, social networking etc…) 6. JAWS settings 7. Troubleshooting. 8. Communication skills (inter personal skills, work etiquettes and English language skills) 9. Life skills training for both career and life 10. Inter personal skills communications, Self integration, sighted perspective, Team work etc… 11. Learning sessions. 12. Analytical skills training. 13. Real world exposure. 14. Employment Sessions Material Used: 1. Computers with a. Windows XP operating system and b. Office 2003, c. Jaws 12.0 2. Audio files for Theory 3. Self paced exercises for each concept. 4. Test for final assessment. 5. Designed Curriculum with computer concepts and employment aspects. 6. Tactile Diagrams 7. Home work. 8. Real world exposure through real world exercises on the computer, 9. Students also carry out project work which involves gathering required information, planning, statusing, reporting and execution. What you can expect from the course:- The objective of this course is to make the candidates employable and ready to face the tough challenges in the work environment. Participant will be able to implement the following concepts in real time scenarios 1. Preparing neatly formatted error free document in Microsoft Word. 2. Entering and retrieving data from Microsoft Excel. 3. Using formulas, creating charts in Microsoft Excel. 4. Efficient way of searching and collecting information from internet. 5. Using different internet based services like e-mail, chatting, e-banking, online purchasing etc… 6. Printing documents 7. Scan and read print documents 8. Installing and uninstalling software. 9. Trouble shooting computer connections. Who are eligible? 1. Any visually impaired person, who has 15 years of formal education. 2. Age should be 20 years and above, and having good communication in English, and basic knowledge of mathematics. 3. Visually Impaired persons who are regularly using computers for their studies/ updation. Joining Procedure: 1. Candidates have to apply for Pre Employment Training by filling the joining form 2. Candidates have to attend the evaluation tests (5th to 7th March 2011) 3. For out of station candidates telephonic/ online evaluation will be conducted on the same day. Note: Candidates will be considered as eligible only if they pass the evaluation tests. Admission will be closed by 7th of March 2011.
