NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 4th January,2010
No. 45-7/CC/09-L1. - The President of India hereby directs that
the maximum limit of insurance for physically handicapped persons shall be
made equal with maximum limit prescribed under Rule 3 of POIF Rules and
revised from time to time.
Consequently, POIF Rules shall be amended as follows:
"Rule 14(3)(e)(ix) Maximum limit of insurance for physically
handicapped shall be Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees one lakh) of sum assured under
special scheme for physically handicapped" shall be substituted by "Rule
14(3)(e)(ix) Maximum limit prescribed under Rule 3 of POIF Rules shall be
applicable to physically handicapped".

Gazette Notification No.5 dated 06-01-2010 on 'Maximum limit of
insurance for physically handicapped persons' is enclosed for taking
necessary action at your end.
2. The proposal for insurance above Rs. One lac shall be
sent to the Consulting Actuary along with all relevant documents viz.
special declarations & special medical report of orthopaedic specialist,
for underwriting. Such policies shall be accepted only on receipt of the
report of the Consulting Actuary.
3. Proposals above Rs. One lac of sum assured, if any,
pending with any circle, should immediately be sent to the consulting
actuary for underwriting.

Dear Sir/ma'm,
I am the advocate in the matter against the postal life insurance and
issue regarding the charging of extra premium is still pending in the
high court of delhi and matter is titled as Vikas Gupta Vs. Union of
India and others. and I am not aware that this issue has been resolved
as yet. Therefore, I would request that we should keep away our selvs
from such rumers unless the order of the notification is not available
in hand. The next date of hearing is fixed for tomoro i.e 25-5-2011.

take postal life insurance policies more then 100000 on par with normal
according to central gout notification no 5 dated 06 01 2010 and
directorate of postal life insurance chanakyapuri delhi orders no
