Dear All

The Beyond Sight Foundation (Blind With Camera) in collaboration with Goa -
Centre for Alternative Photography (www.goa-cap.com) has organized residency
photography workshop for the visually impaired from 13th to 15th August 2011
in Goa. The workshops will be from 9am to 7pm, all 3 days.

Objective of the workshop: Give the visually imapired participants new
experience of alternative photography, cultivate their inner creative
abilities and to make exhibition quality photographs.

Skills required for participants: Visually impaired should have basic
knowledge of photography and has been taking pictures. 

Activities at the workshop:   has  2 parts - first "taking" of pictures and
secondly printing of pictures. Details are given below -

1.New ways to take pictures will be done by SLR camera which are converted
into pinhole, slit camera, fitting a glass (with thick bottom) / butter
paper on a lens and use of matchbox pinhole camera. Also explore "light
painting" techniques using a source of light in dark room. The subject of
photographs can be portraits,  still objects and buildings. Taking of
picture will done for one and half  days. Partho the founder of Beyond Sight
Foundation / Blind With Camera will brief interested participants and help
to trigger in them visualization (creative visual thinking) so each
participants are read with at least 15 images in their mind to create at the
workshop.

2. Exposure to Darkroom   focus on the printing, normal and some basic
alternative techniques. Most print will be of 4 x 6 inches, good one will
printed for 8 x 10 inches. Darkroom session can happen for one and half
days. 

Camera, Film, Other photo equipments: Will be provide by Blind With Camera &
GOA CAP

Boarding, Food & Local Transport: Beyond Sight Foundation will make hotel
booking, food arrangement for participants and vehicle for out shoot and
pickups. 

Cost of the Workshop: Workshop is free of cost, however participants have to
pay for their bus fare from Mumbai to Goa and return to Mumbai. All other
expenses like hotel, food (without alcohol) and local conveyance will be
taken care by the Beyond Sight Foundation.  

Start Journey Date: By Bus on 12th August latest 7pm from Mumbai (reach Goa
by 7or 8am on 13th) 

Return Journey Date: By Bus / train on 15th August after 8 pm from Goa
(reach Mumbai by 9/10am on 16th)

Beyond the Workshop:  Pictures coming out of the workshop will be exhibited
organised by the foundation. New ways to take pictures learned by you can be
used by you to create your personal porfolio of photographic work

This residency workshop offer huge opportunity to explore beyond your
limitation of sight and elevate to new creative heights.
