Dear Friends,

Greetings!

We are very pleased to inform you that VSO in collaboration with Pravah has
launched the Global Exchange 2011-2012.

We invite applications from young people to apply for the Global Xchange
programme 2011-12. In 2011, Global Xchange became part of International
Citizen Service (ICS), a unique new global volunteering scheme launched by
the UK Prime Minister and funded by the Department for International
Development (DFID). As part of this scheme, the six month volunteering
exchange programme is now also called the Youth Xchange.

The programme aims to build in young people, mutual respect and
understanding and to facilitate a process of becoming active citizens in an
increasingly global world. The time period for the exchange is October 2011
to March 2012 where one would be placed for 3 months in a community in UK
and 3 months in a rural community in India. The programme pays for travel,
accommodation, food, medical costs, and a modest allowance.

To be eligible, participants need to be:

- 18-25 years of age

- Indian national with a valid passport/ or should have applied for one at
the time of submission of application

- Spoken knowledge of Hindi and/or English

It is a great opportunity for 18-25 year old Indians who want to volunteer
and who are interested in engaging with social, developmental issues, learn
by experience about diversity, global communities and develop life skills
and values. A volunteer on Global Xchange spends 3 months volunteering in a
community in UK and the next three months in a rural community in India.

If you have the desire and the passion for such an enriching journey, then
fill in the application form attached. Last date for receiving completed
application form is July 30th, 2011. Please complete and return this form
