*1.World's highest cricket ground in Chail:*



The world's highest cricket ground is in Chail, Himachal Pradesh which was
built in 1893 after leveling a hilltop. This cricket pitch is 2444 meters
above sea level. From here you can enjoy an amazing view of Satluj Valley,
Shimla and Kasauli, and the view is tranquil to its most at night. On the
other side of the town are situated the massive Himalayan ranges
spectacularly gleaming in the sun and snow- covered everything under it.

Majuli, a river island, is situated on the river Brahmaputra in Assam boasts
of being the largest river island in the entire world. People continue to

  despite of the threat of being washed away every year. Majuli had a total
area of 1,250 square kilometres (483 sq mi), but having lost significantly
to erosion it has an area of only 421.65 square kilometres (163 sq mi) in
2001.

*5. Post office*



India has the largest number of Post Offices in the world.


*6. Super computer*




India is the only country other than U.S. and Japan, to have built a super
computer indigenously. Soon India will introduce world's fastest super
computer.


*7.Indian election in 1984 :*



The Indian election in 1984 was the largest election of any country. General
elections were held in India in 1984 soon after the assassination of previou

  s Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The election was won convincingly by the
Indian National Congress of Rajiv Gandhi (son of Indira), who claimed 414
seats, and a majority of 295 in the 533-seat parliament.

*8. World's first university*



The world's first university was established in Takshila in 700 BC. More
than 10,500 students from all over the world studied more than 60 subjects.

India was one of the richest countries till the time of British rule in the
early 17th Century. Christopher Columbus, attracted by India's wealth, had

  ea route to India when he discovered America by mistake.


*10. Arabic numerals*




Arabic numerals are not Arabic rather they were actually invented in India.
