I have been using an iPhone 4 for more than an year now and I wouldn't go
back to Symbian again. the touch screen takes some getting used to. aside
from this, the built-in accessibility features and VoiceOver in particular
provide excellent access. There are a large number of free and low cost apps
to improve the functionality of the device. And the Safari web browser is
almost as good as a desktop web browser.

There is one important thing though. If you are only going to make phone
calls and send text messages with your phone, you probably wouldn't need
anything more than the C5. If you want to use your phone for a lot of other
things such as email, web browsing, listening to podcasts, audio books,
Skype conversations, updating Twitter & FaceBook status and so on in
addition to phone calls and text messages, then iPhone will be useful. Also remember that you will need wifi or 3G data connectivity to make best use of
iPhone's capabilities. Android phones can do some of these things to an
extent but screen reader access on Android is a bit dodgy at the moment.

If I remember correctly, I will be doing a talk on built-in access on mobile
devices at TechShare India in early February if you are interested.

Regards,
Kiran

Subject: [AI] seeking Views on iPhone

Friends,

I played around a bit with my friend's iPhone yesterday and it wasn't less
than a thrill.

First, it was very fast in response,
2nd, the hassle free experience of touch screen brought marvel on my face,
thirdly, that woman's voice was almost humanly and.

So guys, I would be greatful if any iPhone and android users (totally
blind) can share your experiences with me in terms of its pros & corns &
comparison between iPhone and android.

~Cheers
