Dear Umesha,

Excel 2003 has 256 columns per worksheet but Excel 2007 has 16,384 columns per worksheet. I do not know if the number of columns has increased even further in Excel 2010.

I think you can write a jaws script for this. I wrote one for merging multiple cells. one more question, do we have lakhs of columns in MS excel? as per my knowledge, there will be 255 columns in a sheet.

i am  updating data and creating new data from old data and it is huge
amount of data

The data in columA starts from A1 and goes till A39 lakhs cell number
and there is lots of blanks between A1 to A39 lakhs in colum and i
want to remove that all blanks cells in between of colum A 1 to A 39
lakhs

and doing manually is quite time consuming

I am looking out for shortcut that by selecting the whole colum a data
and deleting the blank cells in between the Cell 1 to 39 lakhs

you can select the particular cell range by go to option.
for this:
press ctrl+g. go to dialog opens. now type your first cell. E.G A1 press colon sign then and now press the last cell and press enter. you are done
with selecting the [particular range.
Now you can go to edit menu and delete the selected range.

I am copying data from old data sheet but need to make some changes

there is empty cells between a1 to a 3900000 i want to remove that
blank cells by selecting the whole  and i am looking for the shortcut
but i am not getting one if i dont get any then i have to do it
manually which i dont want to do and it will be a lot time consuming

If anybody can focus light on this problem will be great helpful for me
