In some canes, especially which tapers either in or tapers out at ends of
each piece, it is possible to put 2 elastics through it.
This gives added advantageous:
1 More safety, if one snaps, the other one will hold out.
2 It makes the cane more tout, which means it wabbles less

fair wel, I had a cane from RNIB given by my friend some time back.
it
lasted around 4 years, but the elastic is still not broken, just the
tip so i couldn't move further to replace it, since it would need
further procedures so I'm using the normal one from india.
But the indian elastics last max betwween 12/14 months.

This is really a serious issue. We do not get cane which lasts

months or more then a year and the elastic which is used is of

low quality which may break any time when we are travelling or are

i had bought a standard cane from Saksham just 6 months and the
elastic is already broken.
I spoke to the concerned person about it and I came to know that
they
are getting canes from NIVH, deharadun.
Some action should be taken to strengthen the cane along with good
quality of elastic should be used.
