The Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC),
St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, is happy to announce its upcoming training
programmes for visually challenged persons. There will be courses in English
Training (i.e. Elementary and Intermediate levels) as well as a course on Basic
Computer Training & Access Technologies.




· The English Training courses will
include training and practice sessions to develop listening, speaking, reading
and writing skills as well as to expand vocabulary with emphasis on spelling
and pronunciation along with grammar.




· The Basic Computer Training &
Access Technologies course will include training and practice sessions in
accessible software including screen readers, screen magnifiers, OCR technology
etc.




Specific customizable needs will also be looked into. Teaching
strategies will be worked around the learners’ needs.




The courses begin on the 16th of July, 2012. Each
course will be held thrice a week.
