Check out the following piece of information: Access, review and configure the Status Bar in MS Word Using SuperNova Using Dolphin SuperNova it is very easy to access, configure and read information from the Status Bar in Microsoft Word 2007 and above with the help of keyboard shortcuts. What is the Status Bar? The Status Bar is an information bar that appears at the bottom of the document window. The Status Bar shows useful information about the document including page number, language, zoom factor and document view. The information that appears on the Status Bar depends on the application and the view setting you are using. For example: if you use Web View in Microsoft Word the page number does not appear on the Status Bar. This is because it is not relevant to a web page. Reading the Status Bar You can read the Status Bar by pressing the SuperNova Access Suite and SuperNova Screen Reader Read Status hot key. . If using the Desktop keyboard with the Num-lock Off, press NUMPAD 2 to read the Status Bar. . If using the Laptop keyboard, press CAPS LOCK + PAGE DOWN to read the Status Bar. Configuring the Status Bar In Microsoft Office 2007 and later versions it is now possible to move to, review and control what appears on the Status Bar by using only a few keyboard shortcuts. The instructions below demonstrate how to do this using Microsoft Office Word. To review the Status Bar items and go back to the document window: 1. Run Microsoft Office Word and ensure you are in a compatible view, for example, Print Layout View or Draft View. 2. With the cursor in the document window, press F6. The focus moves to the Status Bar. 3. Press TAB or use the Arrow Keys to review the items on the Status Bar. 4. Press ESCAPE or SHIFT + F6. The focus moves back to the document window. To change the items on the Status Bar and go back to the document window: 1. With the cursor in the document window, press F6. The focus moves to the Status Bar. 2. Press SHIFT + F10. A context menu opens. 3. Use the Arrow Keys to move through the items in the menu. You will find some items with a checked state and others unchecked. The checked items are items that currently appear on the Status Bar. 4. To add an item to the Status Bar, select the unchecked item and press ENTER. The Item becomes selected. 5. To remove an item from the Status Bar, select the checked item and press ENTER. The item becomes unselected. 6. Press ESCAPE twice. Word updates the Status Bar, the menu closes and focus goes back to the document window.
