I welcome your suggestions and feedback and hope you will write to me on
what excites you in MS Office.

Day 1 Practical

Mithree technologies pvt.ltd has sales persons and they use personal vehicle
to travel and the company pays the petrol charges: Open an excel sheet and
enter the details given below and perform the following exercise

Note: 

1.     Columns are separated with comma. (use "text to column" during data
entry)

2.     Please give title: "Petrol Rate:" in cell A18 and mention rate as
75.67 in B18

3.     Column headings are: Vehicle Name, 1st reading, 2nd reading,
K.M.Traveled, Litres, Mileage, and Cost (follow the same order-use text to
columns)

In the given list Vehicle Name, 1st reading, 2nd reading and Litres (petrol
used) are given below

Part 1

1.     Apply formats as required (format cell- and freeze panes)

2.     Calculate K.M Traveled as Second Reading - First Reading (formula)

3.     Calculate Mileage as K.M Traveled /Litres (formula)

4.     Calculate Cost as Litres * Rate of Petrol (formula- Absolute
referencing)

5.     Calculate Total  for cost columns (function- auto sum)

6.     Find out average for cost columns (function - average)

7.     Insert new column as first column(insert column and row)

8.     Give Heading: "serial number" and insert number using series(fill
series)

9.     Find out the total litres of petrol used this month? (function- auto
sum)

10.   Decrease the decimal places to 2 positions after the dot in Columns
like Mileage and Cost. (increase - decrease decimal)

Part 2

11.   Count the number of vehicles? (function -
count/counta/countblank/countif/countifs)

12.   Find the maximum KM travelled this month and write the name of the
vehicle and KM travelled? (function - max / sort / filter)

13.   Find the minimum KM travelled this month and write the name of the
vehicle and KM travelled? (function - min / sort / filter)

14.   Find out the vehicle with maximum mileage? (function - max / sort /
filter)

15.   Find out the vehicle with minimum mileage? (function - min / sort /
filter)

16.   Arrange the names in ascending order. Explain how? (sorting)

17.   List the vehicles according to the mileage. Explain how? (Sorting)

18.   List all vehicles with 50 or above mileage. (Filter)

19.   List all Vehicle names that are connected with the companies Hero and
Honda (filter)

20.   Find out the top three vehicles with the maximum mileage(filter)

21.   Create a new column and give the heading Feedback (insert columns-
rows)

22.   Give feedbacks such as good for 50+ KM mileage and poor for others.
(single if condition)

23.   If Mileage is above 70 update the status as "Fuel Efficient"

between 40 and 69 update the status as "Good Mileage"

Less than 39 update the status as "Poor Mileage" (if and multiple if
conditions)

24.   List bikes according to the feedback column. follow the order "Fuel
Efficient", "Good Mileage", "Poor Mileage" respectively. (custom sort and
filter)

25.   List all bikes with mileage between 50 and 60 (filter - numbers -
between)

Part 3

26.   What changes take place when there is a two rupees hike in the petrol
rate?

27.   Suppose Bajaj Discover 100 DTS-Si consumes 13 liters of petrol instead
of 9.05 liters. What are the changes that take place in the other columns?

28.   What should be petrol rate, for total cost to be restricted to 40,000
(What if analysis-goal seek)

29.   Create a form in the same sheet to enter details to the database
(forms and interface)

30.   Validate petrol rate and avoid wrong entries. (Validation)

31. Protect the sheet with password.
