can we use it efficiently in rural areas as well?

Hello,
I use my e5. It's simple if you have added the desired location in
favourites then, just sit in the transport select drive to that
particular place and it starts giving turn by turn guidance. My phone
has saved me alot specially during evenings and late nights.

Hello,
I mostly use my mobile and it's gps for tracking the bus stops. No odd
questions from fello pecengers about bus stops anymore. it really
helps me in nights when the conductor shows his qurioucity about my
knowledge and specially my phone.

I do the same but many times I and many other blinds unable to realize

away.
Many times helpless. this is also the reason to miss the bus.
I generally find it difficult to find the stop where I have to leave
the bus because we have to ask again and again to the people around us
and it looks little odd and we also hesitate in doing so.
Thanks.
Best regards:
Shyam

Dear List Member,
I would like to answer your questions as I am also a resident of Mumbai.
If the person who is guiding you about the bus numbers at a bus stop
goes away then you can ask in general about the bus number when you
feel that a bus is approaching, in most cases someone from the crowd
will give a response. once you approach someone at the stop to inform
you about the bus numbers also add that he/she should inform someone
else before he/she leaves. in case you are alone at the stop and the
bus is approaching then move a little ahead when the bus approaches
the stop and ask in a loud voice the bus number. if no one responds
ask again. most bus drivers will stop at the bus stop if you are
standing at the stop with your cane open.
I agree that it is difficult to take a cab on lonely roads. if a cabby
does not wish to take you just because you are blind then try and
explain to him that you have been travelling alone since a long time
and that he does not have to do anything extra except to drop you at
the right destination. in case he does not know the place properly
then tell him that one can ask on the way just as sighted people do
when they are new to a place.
hope this is of help to you.
Ashmira
