Some time back one Mr Asif Iqbal, an accessindia member had taken up this issue with the governor of RBI and he was very optimistic about the outcome of his meeting with him.
Perhaps Asif can throw some light on the latest developments in this regard.

Subject: [AI] making the abled disabled.

Hello friends,
we all are now believing that we have been enabled a great deal by the
available technological avenues for us. The government authorities
claim that they are more disabled friendly. Look at the recently
developed coins in India. No importance is given to the sense of touch
and the group who use it for distingushing them. How can a totally
visually challenged candidate identify the present coins. please react
and discuss. I'm of the view that we must approach the court. other
wise many such underratings will continue.
regards
