INDY (International Network for Disabled Youth) is internet-based global
network for young disabled people aged 16-30 to network, skill and knowledge
share, created through an Oxfam International Youth Programme (OIYP)
project.

What is the aim of the project?

The aim of the project is to set up an internet-based forum/network where
disabled young people can share and discuss the issues affecting them and
their experiences of being disabled in their respective countries.

We are an interactive space where YOU can share your campaigns, work, and
experience to support and empower one another to be active within your
communities, potentially becoming leaders.

The site aims to provide a network for disabled young leaders and useful
connections to people working on similar issues, and we hope offer user-led
web based seminars and training around a variety of topics.

We hope that by setting up this network, it will empower disabled young
people to realise the value and importance of their perspective as young
people, and that it gives them an opportunity to develop their voice, to
become aware of international leadership opportunities, and to be on a more
equal footing with their non-disabled peers.

What issues does this project seek to address?

The issue this project seeks to address is the lack of space to develop and
share the skills disabled young people need to get their voices and issues
heard on an international stage. There are many disabled young people,
including yourselves, working in their respective countries around
disability rights and achieving equality.

What we would like from you?

YOUR INPUT!

As stated, the site is user-led and as such, relies on your input and
contributions to make it a success. Feel free to share blog posts, photos
and videos and to comment on others' posts. This is an opportunity to share
your experiences, express your views, and network with others - so take
advantage of it!
