hello, alternatively, you may also try to login your gmail account with firefox. after login, click on the link entitled load basic html for slow connection. once you switch over to basic html, you may find the link set basic html as default view. activate this link and then you should be done. unfortunately, this doesn't work with internet explorer. not tried with google crome hence, don't know about it.
