Ability Foundation presents AbilityFEST 2013, India International Disability Film Festival, from September 23 to 26, 2013 at Sathyam Cinemas. This is the 5th edition of the festival, and we would like to thank everyone for coming in large numbers over the years to watch each screening. As we celebrate one hundred years of Indian cinema, we are delighted to present a veritable film feast from India . These include the first public screening with audio description for the blind of the Tamil film “Haridas”; the all India premiere of the Telugu film “Minugurulu”; the Malayalam film “Beautiful” and the feature length documentary “Indelible”. We are really happy to tell you that this year, our screening at 4 p.m on Wednesday September 25, 2013 showcases our very own Tamil Blockbuster Haridas, screened for the first time in India with audio description for the blind. As you know, audio description is a pre recorded narrative describing what is happening on the screen in between dialogues so as to enhance the cinema viewing experience for the visually impaired. We would like the participation of as many visually impaired as possible. As we will be relaying the audio described track through FM, we request you to bring your mobile phones along with headsets. Entry is free, but everyone needs to carry delegate passes and seating is on a first come first serve basis. We would be happy to reserve passes for you, do let us know how many you would need.
