Hi Amiyo, 1. What are the specifications of the laptop? 2. Down grading to Windows XP is not a good option since it is no longer supported by Microsoft. 3. What screen reader are you using? 4. What anti-malware applications are you using?
Many laptops have a lot of junk running on them by default which has to be uninstalled or at least stopped from starting up at boot time. A chkdsk will usually not help in an increase in speed.
