Hi list fellows, Have you ever thought that by sharing a software to the sited society, a VI person will be benifitted by ownself? I am sure, in case of my Varnamala, it will happen. How? As you know, the ANSI (non-Unicode) font texts are not accessible by any screen reader but they appear as your language alphabets at the screen. The sited persons can see them and have no problem to access the document but in case of VI persons, it is not the case. The appearance at the computer screen is useless unless the screen reader will not read them. The speech out is possible if the text belongs to Unicode format. It is known fact that My Varnamala types in Unicode format. If you promote it among sited persons, the texts typed by them automatically will in Unicode which means the texts are accessible to VI persons. Remember that for sited persons a text in ANSI or Unicode format does not matter but for a VI person it is absolutely a matter of presence or absence. So promoting Varnamala among sited world is an indirect method to bring them into accessible text typing practice which is essential for VI persons. Take an example: If one famous writer wrote an novel using Varnamala, a VI person can read his/her book. But what will happen ifthe the novel is in non-Unicode format? Definitely no access! I think that a VI person must understand this gravity and act accordingly. I request all fellow list member to launch an awareness among the sited society that text in Unicode encoding is a benefit for all. The traditional way of writing must enjoy a farewell for ever. The promotion of Varnamala is the best option. If you will give one today, you will get three tommarrow. Mind that a cry will fry but a try will lead towards a buy!
