I am not sure, but maybe the preview pane is causing the delay. When inside
the windows explorer window, press alt+p. It should turn off the preview
window. jaws will say checked or unchecked. keep it unchecked and your
problem might be solved.
Another way to do this is:
Again go to windows explorer,
Alt+t=tools,
O=options,
Ctrl+tab to View tab,
Tab until your in the tree view,
Now press the letter "s",
Until you hear "Show preview handlers in preview pane";
By default it's on,
Press the spacebar to turn this item off,
And tab to okay press enter.
