You can customize graphics announcement in JAWS Settings Center. To do so:

1. Press INSERT+J to open JAWS menu.

2. Navigate to Utilities submenu using Up/Down arrow keys. Press RIGHT
arrow key to open the Utilities submenu.

3. Navigate to the Settings Center option using Up/Down arrow keys.
Press ENTER key to open the JAWS Settings Center dialog box.

4. Press TAB once and navigate to the Graphics and Symbols node in the
treeview using Up/Down arrow keys. Press RIGHT arrow key to open for options
under it.

5. Navigate to the Graphic Verbosity option using Up/Down arrow keys.
Press the SPACEBAR to toggle between All Graphics, No Graphics and Labelled
Graphics options. The default is All Graphics, I believe you should choose
Labelled Graphics to avoid speaking of unlabelled graphics and let JAWS
speak the ones that are properly labelled.

6. TAB to the Apply button and activate it to apply the changes you
have made.

7. TAB to the OK button and activate it to close the Settings Center.

If you wish to customize JAWS for a specific application then press INSERT+V
keeping the application in foreground. It opens the JAWS Quick Settings
dialog box that is similar to the Settings Center with some difference in
the options under the treeview. The Graphics option is located under the
General node of the treeview, for instance.

Best Regards,

Zujar..

Subject: [AI] How to stop jaws announcing grafic#

Hi learned members, when ever I brouze files in an open file dialogue box or
installed programs list, jaws announces some grafic number before the file
name. say for e.g. grafic 208 c cleaner, grafic 304 kurzweil 1000, graffic
405 microsoft word 2007 etc. I am annoyed of these grafic announcements. I
want to listen the file name directly to brouze fast, is there any way to
stop it?
