Hi all, I am getting back to other things from my 4 conference days and have a moment to think. A huge thanks to all the organizers and those who worked in the background to make this happen. 1. The sessions were of top quality and the speakers answered questions frankly. 2. The sessions ran on time. I did not have to wait for any speaker. 3. We covered love and sexuality in a manner where the audience had something new to think about and had a meaningful discussion around the topic. 4. The session on blind sports was good because we covered things that are not commonly known around here. 5. I got to hear a top quality speaker on the disabilities bill. I attended Techshare so heard the other side of this discussion. 6. The volunteers were superb so we had full infrastructure accessibility. 7. The conference fee was at the lower end of the scale. The organizers have done a tremendous job in extracting value for money. I had not expected the high quality conference kit. So, what was bad? 1. I am baffled by the apparent lack of interest shown by a large number of people sitting in the back rows. I sat in the front row but there was too much noise say after the 4th or 5th row. Remember, our primary medium of acquiring information is audio and noise interferes with our ability to both give and get information. 2. I remain astounded by how much effort is required to get everyone seated and silent. I attend several conferences and it takes one announcement to get the audience back to the auditorium. 3. When asking questions, just ask the question. We do not need background information. 4. If another convention is ever conducted, to any future organizer, please provide child care services and to all parents, avail them.
