The problem with special school is that many times the staff is not open for
new ideas. They themselves do not practice and also create hinderance for the
teacher who wants or tries to do something in a unique way. In integrated
education role of parents and teachers of particular school becomes important
in shaping the personality of child. I feel right advice should be given by
those whom the visually impaired child comes. Keeping in mind the situation we
should advise the parents of child about which is the suitable way for him/her,
the special or inclusive education.

In my view, there is a need to have both special schools and inclusive
education.
The option should be exercised by the parents / guardian

There is a huge vacuum....
We are bashing special schools in the name of inclusive education and pathetic
condition of special schools themselves.
However, even if students with disabilities are admitted in mainstream schools
by any means, they will hardly be educated there....
I am talking about severely disabled....
Need of the hour is to have quality special schools till primary or middle
level, and then integrate students in mainstream schools by providing support
services...
There are hardly a couple of english medium blind schools in country when it
replete with english medium schools for sighted children...
Now, I am ready for lashing by activists championing inclusive education....
for my assertion....
