We are glad to inform you that admissions into three-year Diploma in
Computer Applications for the Visually Impaired will commence during
first week of June 2014.
I. Course Highlights:
1. Computer Basics, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet with basic
and Advanced English Audio Lab Sessions.
2. English Language: Grammar & Usage. (spoken & written)
3. Basic Accounting, Secretarial Practice, Office Management, Auditing
&Taxation.
4. Medical Transcription Training.
II. Qualification for Admission:
Pass in Karnataka SSLC or its equivalent preferably with Braille knowledge.
III. Special Learning Facilities:
1. Computer with "JAWS" Screen - Reading Software.
2. Audio Lab for English learning.
3. Study Material in Braille.
4. Embossed pictures for visualization.
IV. Job Prospects:
1. Computer Operators, Administrators Instructors.
2. Embosser Operators.
3. Tele Callers and Call Center Executives.
4. Typists and Front Office Executives (Receptionists).
5. Public Relations / HR
6. Customer Care Representative.
7. Medical Transcriptionists etc.
V. Placements: 2008 to 2013
Visually Impaired Diploma Holders have been placed in various
Government Offices, Banks, Schools, Companies such as Wipro, IBM, SUN
ITES Consulting Pvt. Ltd. Sahana Charitable Trust, Samarthnam Trust,
Ashakirana School for the Blind etc.,
VI. Hostel Facility: Separate Boys and Girls Hostels with Mess.
VII. State and Central Government Scholarships: ` 2,500 to ` 17,000/-
for eligible
students.
