GOOD NEWS: Today (Friday 18 July) we learned that a project supported by our member RNIB to develop smart Glasses for people with low vision has been selected for a Google Global Impact award of £200,000. This funding will enable the next step of significant user testing in the UK. BUT if the project is voted by the global public as one of the top two, £300,000 additional funding will enable International participation in the testing to get wider feedback before finalising designs and plans. I am sure you will agree this is desirable for what is a global challenge. Can you also help get the word out and encourage people to vote? In my opinion Smart Glasses could be transformative for many People with irreparable low vision.
