This is to inform you that please carry your proof of disability
should you wish to register for Bookshare on the spot. And oh yes,
demo of Smart Cane is also available for your live experience! So come
and join us on this Saturday i.e. 23rd August 2014, and get to know
about Smart Cane developed by IIT Delhi, Phoenix Medical Systems Pvt.
Ltd. and Saksham Trust, along with the most widely used accessible
library Bookshare!

We all know the importance of reading which contributes to our
knowledge, and mobility which makes us independent in life. With the
advancements in technology, both these important aspects of our life
have been beautified.

Smart Cane is an electronic travel aid which detects knee-above and
hanging obstacles. Thus saving us from tree branches, railings,
amongst others.

Bookshare is an online accessible library providing a large selection
of print material in accessible formats for those who are print
impaired, at a very affordable price. Not only it covers various
categories, but it provides more than 1 Lakh titles in India, and
includes multiple languages. Whether you are a person who loves to
read on the go, or a reader with deep intellect, Bookshare has things
for everyone!

We will have trainers from Bookshare, and Xavier's Resource Center for
the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), which acts as a partner organization
of Saksham to address you and sort out all your doubts / queries.

Session Details:
Date: Saturday 23rd August, 2014
Timing: 3.30 P.M. to 6.30 P.M.
Venue: Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan basement hall, Jagannathrao
Bosale Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 - opposite Mantralay.

The venue can be conveniently reached by bus root number 138 from CST
station as well as 138/100 from Churchgate station.  Share taxi
services are also available from both these railway stations.
