It is better to buy at least the iphone 5, if not 5s. There is not much difference in features but the processor on the 5 is better and faster on the newer models. For the newer IOS to function, you need a faster processor. If you install the latest version of IOS on the iphone 4s, there is significant lag in everything you do and it isn't really usable with voice over. You can stay on an older version of IOS, but that is a difficult choice with all the newer apps not being installable on that.
