DEPARTMENTALLY RELATED STANDING COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL JUSTICE AND
EMPOWERMENT INVITE SUGGESTIONS/COMMENTS ON "THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS
WITH DISABILITIES BILL, 2014"
Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha has referred "The Rights of Persons with
Disabilities Bill,
2014" as introduced in Rajya Sabha to the Standing Committee on Social
Justice and
Empowerment for examination and Report. Considering the wider
implications of the proposed
legislation on the lives of the disabled persons and for an in-depth
study of the proposals in the
Bill, the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment under the
Chairmanship of Shri Ramesh Bais, MP have decided to invite
suggestions/comments/views
from the public in general and from
individuals/NGOs/Experts/Stakeholders and Institutions in
particular.
2. All those who are interested in submitting written
memoranda/suggestions to the
Committee may send two copies thereof either in English or in Hindi to
DIRECTOR, LOK SABHA SECRETARIAT, ROOM NO. 606, PARLIAMENT
HOUSE ANNEXE, NEW DELHI-110001, TEL. NOs. 23035531, FAX
NUMBER: 23018010, e-mail: csje-...@sansad.nic.in within 15 days from the
date of publication of this advertisement. The Bill is available at

3. The memoranda/suggestions submitted to the Committee would form
part of the records
of the Committee and would be treated as "confidential" and enjoy
privileges of the Committee.

requested to specifically indicate so. However, the Committee's
decision in this regard shall be final.

The notification was published on 26/09/2014 and the last date for
receipt of suggestions is 15 days from the date of publication of the
notification. I got hold of the notification just today and
immediately sent it across so that important suggestions from members
can go the the Committee and hopefully implemented in letter and
spirit.
