Dear All We celebrated The World White Cane Day with great zeal and elan yesterday. During noontime, JNU Visually Challenged Forum in collaboration with JNU Central Library organized a Public Lecture on "Disability Rights Movement in India: Emergence, Challenges and Way Forward" delivered by Scenior disability rights activist Dr RK Sarin (Who teaches at Satyavati College Delhi University). Then in the evening we took out White Cane March in the entire campus covering Ganga Dhabha to Addblock via Chandra Bhaga, Koyna and Shipra Hostels. Then At the addblock members of the JNU Visually Challenged Forum enthralled the crowd with their superb performances. Some members of the Forum articulated the pressing concerns and challenges faced by blind students on campus. JNUSU President, and activists from various political parties also took part in the march. JNU Visually Challenged Forum owes thanks to those people who came from Delhi University and from other parts of Delhi who joined us yesterday.
